Hospital price transparency
Attestation readiness checklist
Before the affirmation goes in the file, walk the list. Each item maps to something the statement actually claims.

One: the affirmation element is present and populated in the file itself - checked by parsing the MRF, not by looking at the webpage. Two: the attester's name is encoded, current, and belongs to a senior official who knows they hold the designation. Three: every payer-specific negotiated charge that can be a dollar amount is a dollar amount. Four: every charge expressed as a percentage, algorithm or formula carries the information needed to derive a dollar amount - the specific fee schedule or components, not a label.
Five: the file passes the CMS validator, and someone has looked beyond the validator at sample rows against source records. Six: the review that supports the statement is documented - checks run, findings, fixes - and filed with the posting date. Seven: the refresh triggers are calendared: the update cycle and any change of attester.
If any item cannot be checked off, the file is not ready to carry the hospital's name.
